RemoteDataWork Contributor Voice Data Retention Policy
Version 1.0
Effective October 29, 2026
This policy explains how long Speechify, Inc. ("Speechify"), which operates RemoteDataWork, keeps the voice recordings and related data it collects from applicants and contributors, and when it deletes them. It restates Section 5 of the Voice Data Notice and Consent that contributors sign. If the two ever differ, the signed Notice controls.
Retention schedule
| Data | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Application voice samples | Deleted within 30 days after the application is decided, whether or not the applicant is accepted. An application left incomplete for 30 days counts as decided. Samples are never used to train AI models, added to a dataset, or used to identify anyone. |
| Recordings and transcripts, including copies in Speechify's internal datasets | As long as Speechify uses them for the purposes in Section 3.1 of the Recording Release and Data License. At least every two years, we review whether each dataset is still needed and delete Recordings that are not. For contributors who lived in Canada when they took part, no later than twenty (20) years after their last session. |
| Rejected Recordings | Deleted within 30 days after the appeal period ends. |
| Session Information and optional labels | As long as the Recordings they relate to. |
| Signed documents, initials, session start records, and payment records | At least six (6) years after the contributor's last session, and longer if the law requires. |
Deletion on request
Contributors may ask us to delete their Recordings at any time, from their account page or by emailing privacy@speechify.com. Within 30 days after verifying the request, we delete the audio of the contributor's voice and the transcripts of their speech, and we exclude them from any dataset build or model training run that begins afterward.
What deletion does not change
AI models already trained using a contributor's Recordings, and datasets already delivered to licensees, are not recalled. We keep the records we need to show consent and payment and to meet legal obligations, as listed above. We may also keep data longer where the law requires it, including while it is subject to a legal hold.
No voiceprints
We do not create voiceprints or use anyone's voice to identify or verify who they are, so we hold no voiceprint data.
