Common questions

How am I paid?
Each opportunity lists its base rate per accepted recorded hour, and its short qualification session has a flat fee. Pay is calculated per work week (Monday to Sunday, UTC) and sent every week by PayPal, Venmo or bank transfer. There's no payout minimum.
Who can take part?
Adults who live in an eligible US state, DC or Puerto Rico, or in Canada outside Quebec. The program isn't open in California, Texas, Illinois, New Jersey, Massachusetts or Washington at this time. In Canada you need to have reached the age of majority in your province.
What equipment do I need?
A desktop or laptop computer, a wired or USB microphone, wired headphones, the Chrome browser and a quiet room. The voice sample in your application checks your audio before any paid recording.
How are the recordings used?
Recordings are used to train speech AI and may be licensed as datasets for other organizations' model training, as described in the documents you sign. Transcripts are PII-redacted: names, phone numbers, addresses and account numbers are removed. Your voice is never used to make a voice replica of you. See the Privacy Policy and Retention Policy.
Do I have to commit to a schedule?
No. You choose whether, when and how much to take part. There are no minimums or quotas, and you're free to do other work. Some group sessions run at set times: claim a place if the time suits you, and release it whenever your plans change.
How are recordings reviewed?
Each recording is accepted or rejected against the published Acceptance Criteria. Every rejection comes with a reason, and you can appeal it from your account.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Request deletion from your account page or by contacting support. Your raw recordings are deleted and excluded from future datasets. Datasets already delivered and models already trained aren't recalled.
